octopus close season is an initiative of rodrigues regional assembly .this initiative is to help octopus to become mature and to reproduce.during close season no person shall have in his possession octopus according to rodrigues regional assembly act of 2012 published in government.furthermore people engaged in octopus fishing activities have been deployed in alternative works such reabilitation of environment and reforestation receiving a stipend per day of work.this program is essential for it prevent fishermen catching small octopus.moreover we recognised statistically that there is an increase in octopus capture these past years
